Cooking dinner for my dad's birthday

A couple of days ago it was my dad's birthday and I went to my parent's house to cook dinner. My mom wanted margaritas so I grabbed some to-go at a local Mexican restaurant. I told my mom that I didn't need her help but of course she couldn't sit there and do nothing so I put her to work smashing some garlic. The first thing I did was boil some potatoes and then I prepared some asparagus to bake in the oven. I just drizzled them in olive oil and added salt, pepper, and garlic. I almost started to pre-heat the oven but I just had this feeling that I needed to check inside and luckily I did because there was a lot of stuff that needed to be cleared out.

I seasoned the steak and mashed potatoes. Since I'm such an amazing cook, I forgot to get milk for the potatoes. My dad is really sensitive to smoke. Luckily, my parents have a small kitchen tucked away behind 2 doors that I can cook the steak. I turned on the fan and vibed in the kitchen myself. Then, I noticed my nail polish was almost gone. While I cooked the steak, I asked my mom to take the asparagus out of the oven when the timer went off but she panicked when it happened because she couldn't get Alexa to stop. My dad is a hardcore DJ that plays at Vietnamese karaoke parties, so my siblings and I got him a nice laptop that can handle everything he is doing. My parents like their steak medium done so I was a little worried that the inside was pink but my dad was okay with it. Then, we ended the night with face-timing siblings and nieces and nephews.
