Cutting open a dragon fruit

When I went to Vietnam 8 years ago, I ate a lot of fruit and one of my favorite ones was this one. This is called a dragon fruit. I'm pretty sure I ate at least one of these a day while I was there. Not only are they fun to look at, they are delicious. When you cut into it, you will see the bright pink exterior and the white middle part with seeds throughout. Someone asked if you need to remove the seeds and the answer is you don't. The seeds are really easy to chew through; it just adds a little crunch to your bite. For me, it tastes like a sweet pear. It's really easy to eat a bunch of these in one sitting. I remember it being really refreshing eating in the hot summer of Vietnam.

Have you tried this fruit before?
